Lo-Fi Offclass Cup – Update 1

Posted on: Sep 21st 2011 by Agro

Much to our continued surprise the Lo-Fi Offclass Cup has seen in incredible 200 teams sign up! This stands as a magnificent testament to both the pulling power of free hats and the desire to be involved in a 6v6 unlike any before it. It does however pose some interesting problems when it comes to organising people.  Trent has imposed some rules to try and get everyone organised.

The brackets can be viewed at any time by clicking here; some teams do have byes for Round 1.

The Cup will be a single-elimination style tournament spanning three evenings this coming weekend. A representative from each team is required to join #pubcomp on QuakeNet (use this site if you don’t have an IRC program) and ‘check in’ by sending  huhy a PM between 1900 and 2000 CEST on any night that your team is playing. We’ll be shifting through a whole mess of teams so if you haven’t checked in at your allotted time each day you’ll be disqualified and your opponents will be awarded a default win.

Teams are requested to use their own servers if possible. To be a Lo-Fi Offclass server it must have the following 3 things:

1. the correct version of any custom maps (linked below), 2. The Lo-Fi Offclass Cup config and 3. The Lo-Fi Offclass Cup whitelist

If neither team has a server, they can PM  Trent, as EOReality have been kind enough to sponsor us with a dozen European servers.  If your team is not able to play in the cup, please delete yourselves from the participants list, and any disputes aruse during the event they should be directed at  CanFo or   Trent on #pubcomp. Due to the small admin team, we shall be taking a hardline stance especially throughout the first few rounds to ensure that everything runs smoothly!

Friday 23rd September

  • Round 1:  2000-2100 CEST, cp_gullywash_pro
  • Round 2:  2100-2200 CEST, pl_barnblitz
  • Round 3:  2200-2300 CEST, cp_badlands

Saturday 24th September

  • Round 4:  2000-2100 CEST, cp_snakewater
  • Round 5:  2100-2200 CEST, koth_viaduct
  • Round 6:  2200-2300 CEST, cp_gravelpit

Sunday 25th September

  • Semi-finals: 2000 CEST, BO3.
  • The Final: 2200 CEST, BO3.

The majority of the tournament’s matches will be one map only. In the BO3 matches, each team will choose a map from the 6 above, and have a decider chosen by the admins. One semi-final and the final will be casted on VanillaTV, thanks to  Comedian. The prizes for the winning team remain a Lo-Fi Longwave hat each.

Best of luck everyone, and here’s to a successful and fun tournament!

Will there be SourceTV?

The EOReality servers will probably have STV running but I doubt much will happen in regards to casting the early rounds. Just too much to get through.
